About Us

M Waterfront Grille was known as Maxwell's on the Bay for 20 years. Famous for its New England-style steaks and seafood, Maxwell's was one of Naples favorite restaurants.

After an extensive six-month renovation and a name change in 2008, partners and brothers Peter and Christopher Sereno opened the doors of the new M Waterfront Grille on October 14th, 2008. The completely remodeled 5,000 square foot restaurant features an open floor plan with a contemporary, yet refined atmosphere that includes warm earth tones and wooden accents throughout the waterfront dining rooms. All diners can enjoy beautiful Venetians Bay views from every seat in the dining room.


The menu features Cutting Edge Continental Cuisine specializing in fresh seafood, steaks, organics and handmade pasta. Warm French baguette bread, olive tapenade, and lightly salted cow's milk butter accompany your order.

With expansive Bay views, the Main Dining Room features waterfront tables and cozy, intimate booth seating. Light and spacious, it is the center of the dining venues, one of the largest waterfront dining rooms in Naples

Comfortable furnishings with both sun and shade seating, Alfresco guests enjoy bay breezes and lively marine life while dining. Public Docking

Terrace and Private Dining

Perched atop Venetian Bay with three walls of glass doors that allow for Open Air dining, guests actually dine right over the water. As one of the only Private Waterfront Dining rooms in Naples, FL, the Terrace is perfect for both professional and social events. Private or semi- private reservations can be made for groups from 15-50. Corporate Conference dining, Rehearsal dinners, small Weddings, showers, Special Birthday and Anniversary celebrations and Holiday parties are regularly booked for this beautiful setting.

M Lounge

Casually sophisticated, the M Lounge provides the perfect setting for cocktails and dining. Watch the waterfront or that important game with a cool cocktail when meeting friends and associates for Happy Hour 4 to 6pm daily. "Wine on Wednesdays" is the mid-week event for experiencing new wines. Live music on selected evenings adds to the atmosphere of the M Lounge.

The Verandah

Relax in this casual, open air setting for dining and drinks. Adjacent to the M Lounge, Verandah guests also enjoy the music of live entertainers on selected evenings. The Verandah welcomes furry friends and their owners as one of Naples most Pet Friendly dining destinations.

Chris and Peter Sereno

Business Partners and brothers, Chris and Peter Sereno discovered Naples, Fl. in 1988 as the perfect place to open their first joint venture, Maxwell's on the Bay. Seeking a waterfront setting, the Serenos chose the Village as the site and built a very successful and popular landmark restaurant in Southwest Florida.

After celebrating 20 years as Maxwell's, the decision was made to redesign and renovate. In 2008, M Waterfront Grille proudly opened to welcome guests. With a complete transformation of the dining areas, innovative new menus and expanded wine library, along with a devoted and experienced management team.

Adam Balavender

General Manager
Originally from Avon, CT, Adam graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Providence RI with a degree in Hospitality. He is proud to have worked for M Waterfront Grille and its affiliate restaurant for the past 14 years and was an integral part of the successful launch of M Waterfront Grille in 2008. Adam takes the reigns as the General Manager at M Waterfront Grille in 2016, he looks forward to putting his spin on the recipe for success of M Waterfront Grille for years to come.

Mimi Trautschold

A true Minnesota girl, Mimi attended St. Cloud University before venturing to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, to begin her career in the hospitality business. In 1988, Mimi settled in Naples, Fl with her new job at Maxwell's on the Bay. She is proud to be active part in the launching of M Waterfront Grille in 2008, continuing her active role in the company for 29 years. .

She truly enjoys greeting long time guests as well as welcoming new friends to the restaurant. Making everyone feel comfortable and well cared for is the hallmark of Mimi's management style.

Maria Watson

Private Dining & Special Events Coordinator
Raised in the United Kingdom, Maria achieved her Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism and Business Management, during her studies she started her internship at our sister property on Block Island, RI. Since 2010, Maria worked seasonally at the National Hotel, working front desk for 6 summers. In 2012, upon completion of her studies, she moved to Naples where she became a part of M Waterfront Grille's front desk team.

Maria is excited to be a part of the team year round and has been devoted to excelling in great customer service, always with a smile.

John Berry

Born June 14th, 1968, in McHenry, Illinois. John received his degree at the Florida Culinary Institute. His first professional job was at the PGA National Resort and Spa. John then moved to Naples Florida and received a job at Maxwell's on the Bay where he met his wife Debra in 2001. He has been with the company for the past 23 years working his way up to executive chef.

With numerous years of experience creating innovative culinary comfort dishes with the team, John will continue his role as chef to wow our guests, for years to come.

Adam Nardis Bayside 2013

Adam Nardis

Born in Painesville, Ohio. His passion for great food began almost instantly being born into a very Italian family who considered cooking to be both communal as well essential to everyday life and properity. The focus on fresh ingredients has been imbedded in Adam’s head since the days of harvesting everything from potatoes to sweetest of tomatoes in his grandfather Nicoli’s compost nurtured garden. He was taught sustainability in agriculture as a way of life and to accept no substitutes for quality. This carried into days of rolling fresh pasta and learning the tendencies of ingredients through trial and error with his father and best friend. Cooking will always be a vessel to fill Adam's soul but now splits time with his wife Erin and four small children. His deep commitment to both consumes the majority of his time anymore. However he wouldn't want it any other way. .

The National Hotel, Block Island, Rhode Island

This 45 room historic Block Island hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic places and is located in the heart of Old Harbor, Block Island. All of our Block Island Hotel rooms have been renovated and feature private baths, televisions and telephones. The National's giant, wrap-around porch is world famous with breathtaking views overlooking the Block Island Sound, The Big Porch, is the best spot on the Block Island to enjoy lunch, dinner, a light snack or an evening cocktail. - there's even an outside bar.
